Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
In addition to my qualifications, I also hold the CPD Standards Office prestigious accredited coach status. The CPD Standards Office work across all industry sectors and are highly recognised in business for the work that they do with regard to continual professional development.
This accreditation not only demonstrates the high impact that coaching delivers it enables me to present each client that I work with an individual certificate confirming the number of hours that we have worked together. This can be used in meeting your own CPD requirements for your professional membership bodies and to meet your organisational demands/requirements.
The benefits of CPD can be seen from two perspectives – that of the employee, and that of the employer.
For employees, CPD helps them keep their knowledge and skills up-to-date. It also ensures that the professional standard of their qualifications and registrations is maintained. Furthermore, it contributes to their professional sense of direction. Completing CPD helps build their confidence and credibility, allows them to showcase their achievements and equips them with tools to cope positively with change.
CPD is beneficial for employees’ career progression and advancement. CPD research has confirmed that for anyone hoping to get promoted, or wanting to specialise in a different area, demonstrating their learning agility and dedication to CPD can make a substantive difference. In real terms, this means that CPD contributes to achieving higher salaries.
For employers, the primary benefit of CPD is ensuring that standards across the company are high and consistent. CPD also promotes greater work engagement from the workforce and general commitment to job roles. Having a number of employees undertake CPD, whether concurrently or over a period of time, allows for the sharing of best practice and support. CPD also contributes to maximising staff potential, improves staff morale and provides a useful benchmark for annual appraisals.

Sue coached me between March and October 2016. I currently combine a number of career roles, a mix of employed and self-employed, and wanted help in clarifying what to do with all the opportunities that this way of working presents. Sue was not only a great listener but quickly managed to make sense of all the projects I’m involved with and asked excellent questions that really made me think about what I wanted longer term. Around session 3 my vision for the future started to become much clearer, and Sue then helped me to shape this vision into a plan. I would highly recommend Sue as a coach, she takes an extremely professional approach, is fully client focused and has great experience to refer to from her years in management positions.
....Coaching has allowed me to work towards making myself a better Chair but has also had a much broader impact......I have recommended coaching and more specifically Sue as a coach, to other professionals. I am sure that by continuing to be coached I will achieve clarity, focus and will reach all of my goals sooner than expected......
